The Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference is taking place on March 6 and 7 in Brussels, and it’s organized by the European Commission together with the European Economic and Social Committee. EDUCA Business Association is present in this event through two projects they are developing in cooperation with the Agency for Innovation and Development of Valladolid City Council, within the plan #ValladolidCircular.

These two projects from EDUCA Business Association are: “Collaborative Circular Economy Platform” (Plataforma colaborativa en Economía Circular) and “Circular Company” Certificate (Sello “Empresa Circular”).

During these two days, more than 1000 companies, institutions and organizations from all over the world involved in the circular economy take part in different activities, such as talks, workshops, networking sessions, cultural programs, exhibitions, etc. Throughout these activities, we can find two persons responsible for EDUCA’s circular economy programs: Pilar García, lawyer, and Maribel Barrante, Strategia Infinita‘s consultant.

On the first day, the action plan was examined as a successful framework for a transition into the circular economy, addressing policies to capitalize on the current global drive. The purpose throughout the day was to consider the circular economy as an appropriate method to fulfill the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

As for March 7, eight different participatory workshops will be carried out to share success stories and identify new challenges.

2019’s conference, which is titled “Delivering on the Circular Economy – What’s next?”,  is the follow-up to 2018’s conference. In this latest edition, a thousand people attended the event throughout the two days. The first day was specifically destined to provide a pathway for a high-level political discussion on the implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan. The second day was focused on gathering different perspectives from civil society organizations that attended the event.
