2019 Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference: Success Stories and New Challenges was held in Brussels on March 7 and 8 and has brought together more than a thousand representatives from different organizations, public administrations, foundations, institutions and business associations. The main points discussed in this conference are the way circular economy contributes to encouraging Europe‘s competitiveness, updating its economy and industry, creating employment, protecting the environment, and generating sustainable growth.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Agency for Innovation and Development of Valladolid City Council, EDUCA Business Association has taken part in this international appointment to introduce two projects on #circulareconomy that they have currently in operation. In particular, Pilar García and Maribel Barrante participated in the workshop “Tools for measuring the circular transition” explaining the qualitative and quantitative indicators they are working with to implement the “Circular Company” Certificate in those companies that would like to accredit their transformation into the circular economy.

These two representatives from EDUCA Association also explained the benefits of a circular economy certificate for companies. Some of them are guaranteeing effectiveness and efficiency in their processes, improving their competitiveness to face the international market, focusing on clients and customers, meeting new business opportunities, gaining the trust of current and prospective clients as a differential advantage, and improving the company’s global image.

Likewise, EDUCA Business Association presented its project “Collaborative Circular Economy Platform” too. It’s a meeting point to do business that allows offering, exchanging and valuing what is leftover in your business, finding raw materials for a good price, as well as sharing and exchanging experiences from different companies and institutions and learning from them. Therefore, you’ll be able to train yourself in competences to lead your company into a circular model. If you haven’t taken the leap into a circular economy, on this platform you can get information on good practices and procedures to make the most of your business.

On the other hand, the lawyer Pilar García and the director of Strategia Infinita, Maribel Barrante, entered into the workshops “Social Dimension of Circular Economy” and “Mapping Circular Strategies in Europe” too.
