This morning, EDUCA Business Association has attended the closing session of the project “Madera que ReVIVE” (meaning “Reviving wood”) where results have been presented. It was held at the Agency for Innovation and Development of Valladolid.

Rosa Huertas, Head of Valladolid’s Finance and Economic Promotion, opened up the session talking about the circular economy in Valladolid.

At the event, different processes carried out by the project Buteo have been discussed: recovering wood in a way that reduces the use of raw materials, recruiting new people belonging to groups at risk of social exclusion, setting up places for biodiversity in Valladolid, and disseminating the concept of circular economy throughout the town.

Juan Antonio Medina Cuaresma, Celia García Asenjo, and Ruth López Verdura constitute the technical team for this circular economy initiative.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the contribution from FINSA and Leroy Merlin (from the wood industry), and the assistance from Fundación Personas (“People Foundation”) and its team. Javier Encujo, a member of Fundación Personas, has explained the processes from Centro Ocupacional de Valladolid (“Valladolid’s Vocational Center”) to produce nest boxes and shelters in their carpentry shops.
