EDUCA Business Association takes a chance on the circular economy once more: this time, they have set up a “Circular Company” Certificate which is supported by the Agency for Innovation of Valladolid City Council. Thus, EDUCA Association carries on with the ground-breaking project they developed last year named “Circular economy: a reality in Valladolid” (“Economía circular, una realidad en Valladolid” in Spanish originally).

Through the“Circular Company” Certificate, the Association EDUCA takes another step forward in the circular economy by providing an accreditation service for companies that develop circular economy programs or initiatives at any of their processes or stages or throughout their whole activity.

This certification values companies’ efforts to take on circular economy tools and processes, establishing different categories covering the complete life cycle and even some processes’ partial development. Moreover, institutions, organizations and public administrations can apply for this certificate. They will have to go through an evaluation process to obtain it as businesses do.

One of the benefits of this certificate for companies is that it proves their incorporation into the circular economy and, therefore, their commitment to making good use of existing resources and waste. A different perk could be that it helps those companies using it to stand out from the crowd. Its main goal is valuing the circular economy within the corporate sector, especially within SMEs, as well as contributing to raising awareness among companies and people in general about the importance of the circular economy.

Since this project is another effort from EDUCA Business Association to assist local companies in improving the production process and the implementation of efficient management models, this kind of initiative is always open to all businesses and entrepreneurs in Valladolid who have interest in the circular economy.
Jorge Gutiérrez, the association’s president, claims that, through the circular economy, Valladolid’s industrial network will be stronger, generate wider wealth and create more employment.
